BEA Systems

So, you know, from selling databases and programming languages on mainframes to then moving out of the hardware business when I moved our family back to Colorado, I moved into pure software and sold in the database, relational database space that Oracle now dominates today.

I then moved into the Java space and helped build a company called BEA Systems from 50 employees to 3,500 employees over five years.

And that's where I met two of my other co-founders for Rally.

And all of us had been in...

And so we started this company, and that company went through...

Originally, we were a BEA Systems.

Mm-hmm.

Prior to the Oracle acquisition, we were a BEA Systems partner and doing resell.

I was doing a little side consulting, and it was not great.

I mean, it was okay.
