So I was teaching a course in negotiation for a college called Bay Path here in Massachusetts, in the United States, and a student of mine actually mentioned this book to me, Donna Hicks' book, Dignity.

She has two books, Dignity: Its Essential Role in Conflict Resolution, and then she has a second book, Dignity, uh, Leading with Dignity.

And my student said, "I think you would really like this book." I read the book, and I was like, [laughs] everything in the whole world made sense to me.

And that can be infectious with that positive energy and expectations, and that's what they were able to create.

Kyle Brenner, her successor, also continued that and is now the superintendent of vocational technical education at Bay Path, which is a local vocational technical school in the region of central Massachusetts.

So I think it was that competitive spirit, but also a competitive spirit with the end goal of great results for our kids.
