Finally, the world of insurance paperwork is being reshaped by Outmarket, a startup founded by Vishal Sankla.

Recognizing the heavy manual workload that still dominates much of the industry, Outmarket uses AI to automate tedious paperwork for insurance agencies and brokers.

Even if you conservatively assume only half of those checks interrupt a task that required focus, that's 48 interruptions multiplied by 23 minutes of recovery time.

That's 1,104 minutes.

Johnson later returns to the startup world, founding Enjoy Technology, an e-commerce company that brought technology products and setup services directly to customers' homes.

The startup filed for bankruptcy in 2022 and sold substantially all of its assets to Asurion.

For all his skepticism about how AI will reshape shopping, Johnson remains bullish on the technology itself, saying, I'm a real believer in AI.
