it's not a good time at the bar.

So I did, I worked at what was then Blake Dawson Waldron, now Ashurst, had a really interesting couple of years working there, fascinated to learn about the practice of the law, being a solicitor.

And I was about to go to the bar and I saw that the job was advertised in academia at ANU.

And I thought, well, maybe I'll do that.

And I guess reflecting on your career, has there been a, I guess, moment where there's particular risk that's ultimately paid off for you?

Yeah, I mean, there've been many risks.

And I mean, one of those big risks I took is when just out of professional practice at Blake Dawson Waldron, I decided to go into academia, which is a complete different turning for me.

I was going to go straight to the bar.
