Carrefour is planning a controlled expansion in India after returning to the market through a partnership with Dubai-based apparel group.

The company plans to open multiple stores across Delhi, NCR in the coming months and enter Western India by next summer.

Apparel Group, which has opened a more than 50,000-square-foot Carrefour store in Greater Noida, will open another outlet within four weeks.

The partners plan to roll out 50 food and grocery stores in the first phase over five years, while also considering acquisitions to accelerate growth.
