Anne Rice

Yeah.

Clearly this is like Bram Stoker and Anne Rice did not

pick up

on that

So 1994, we have Interview with the Vampire that often gets mistitled there.

So Anne Rice wrote 13 novels in that series.

The third one is Queen of the Damned.

So that's another one that got me into a movie, which we don't have on our list.

didn't have a good time on it.

Oh,

and apparently Anne Rice hated Tom Cruise being cast, too.

She thought he was going to be terrible.

You know, that's what keeps her young.

I mean, I say that with reverence to be like Anne Rice.

I think she's very clever.

I think one of her main formula for... just sticking around for decades is every time she starts to sort of step away, she's really clever at identifying like subversive, cool talent.

Lestat.

Anne Rice said she was mad.

And then she went and saw it and took out a full-page ad newspaper in New Orleans saying, I apologize to Tom Cruise.

He just wanted to fly a plane.

story.

And no, because like Anne Rice didn't really deviate from that.

No.

And I, I don't really care if there's a deviation, but tell me why.

I don't want to, I don't want to meet my heroes.

I mean, I also grew up in fandom during the tyranny of Anne Rice.

So she put the fear of the law in us.

We didn't want to meet our creators.

We had the teen romance vampires.

Then we've had the Anne Rice-averse going on.

And now it seems we're in vampire comedy land.

Mm-hmm.

Yes, she played Claudia, which was the infant vampire created by Lestat.

And yeah, I mean, it's Anne Rice.

You can never go wrong with it.

And I think he's one of both Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise's best performances.
