First, Rust Head by Ross McKenzie, published by Anderson Press.

My book trust colleague George said I had to read this book and he was right, I really did.

So reading it was like the experience of watching the first Guardians of the Galaxy film at the cinema.

So I wrote The Long Weekend and it was my first published book.

Very, very fortunate to get a lovely, lovely agent who secured a deal with Anderson Press for it.

What year was this, Savita? This

was 2008.

But one agent came back to me, and you, and she absolutely loved the book as it was.

And she submitted it to a few places.

And Liz Maud at Anderson Press loved the book, wanted very minimal changes, hardly any copy editing.

And it went to press the following year.
