So doing this bump up, that was a huge... kind of a stress for me because I was a little bit behind the pace you know I remember spring testing is you see it on the calendar and I'm like we still have a month and a half left of instruction after this test you know how are we going to get to this and I had a really great conversation with actually one of my Amplify mentors, and we just really talked about that same idea that Jeff touched on, that really, if you are creating a classroom of critical thinkers and problem solvers that are not scared to break a problem down that looks intimidating or looks unfamiliar, that right there, you are prepping them for that test.

So when I first filed, I sued my school district in 2019 about a curriculum that they had adopted called Amplify Science, which was a K-8 science curriculum.

Amplify is owned by Steve Jobs's widow, Lorene Powell Jobs.

Again,

no shock, one of the same kind of these ed tech, you know, industry people.

Not if you can't see it, like with iReady.

Yeah.

And the other thing was like Amplify Science, the curriculum that I had initially sued about was like one of the problems I had, other than the fact that it was teaching science to K through eight all on an iPad of some digital platform, was that there was like a pre-test and a post-test for every lesson.

And remember, assessment is a critical element in that process.

And so for example, in my calculus online classes, and this is the same for all of my class, online classes, but I'll do, um...

I have, like, a conceptual lab where students are going through and really having to get into the weeds of the math and what's going on so that they can conceptually understand it through the use of, like, applets, using Amplify curriculum, et cetera.
