Even if my film sucks, there's no way I'm going to give up when someone else is a barista and finished a feature-length film.
Keala RamosGUEST
55:03
But because I have an interaction with an audience that I'm serving, much like the woman that made the comment, like, you guys are like punk ghosts, that's a familiar comment.
Keala RamosGUEST
55:15
so my inspiration what keeps me going is talking about it and using my quote limitation okay so i work in service but when i talk to a customer they're all often as the barista they work in a job and they want to talk to me and that's a moment for me to release my artistic information if i trust them enough to be like well i'm working on a film what's it about and we keep going there and they offer information too they're like oh my god and that's how i found out that the biggest thrill to them was like oh i i didn't have this beard and i dressed up as courtney love and you watch them laugh or like react and you can't buy that know and that's something i use i use my job to learn how to edit and how to how to make this work because i'm engaging with an audience literally over a cup of coffee and serving them and because they like talking to me and they can see this guy is more than serving and most bruises are artists which is why i became bruce and then it shapes the film because i'm like what part are they interested in it's not there's like and then they'll be like oh i used to live in san francisco well i know what mark and they'll make martinis they'll amoeba music landmark places But when I talk about Castro Street and gay, I was like, oh, my God.
Keala RamosGUEST

Alex CalegoPANELIST

And the cool thing about Amoeba Records was it was one of those few part-time jobs where you could hold it down.
Alex CalegoPANELIST
55:35
And if you were in a band or you're an actor or whatever and you needed time off, you could like, hey, I need time off to go on tour.
