Middleman I should have put in quotes, because people don't like to call it that.

Cardinal, along with McKesson and Cequent, or the old AmerisourceBergen, are the three big drug distributors.

Politicians from both parties love to criticize these guys, but all three stocks have been incredibly great long-term performers.

Why? Because they perform a valuable service for the drug makers.

... we could really get in the weeds on that.

But those folks that have the least pricing errors, and this will sound goofy in light of Amerisource's little, um, stumble, uh, a month and a half ago, but they typically order the majority of their drugs from one large, well-established wholesaler that has extremely tight EDI, uh, constraints that's lined out.

And then maybe they supplement that, um, for out, you know, for out of stocks or something that's hard to get, or something where their primary's just outta line with a couple or a handful of secondary wholesalers that are large enough to support EDI transmission.

And the, the common thread there is just EDI transmission of orders back to the pharmacy so you can receive them into your pharmacy management system.

And he was the chairman of a company called Bergen Brunswick, which was a multi, multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical.

It's now Amerisource Bergen.

But that was my first independent director.

And it was big time.
