So the consensus document, which was, uh, put together by a group of writers from the American Society of Echo and the European Society of Echo, basically went over the finer points of strain and how strain can be used to assist you in diagnosis of several different pathologies, such as heart failure, whether or not the patient is heading in the right direction with their current methods, if they're heading for a recent hospitalization or even something worse than that.

Also can be used to assist in, uh, cases of hypertension.

Increased wall thickness can help bring forth a correct diagnosis such as amyloid, hypertrophic cardiomyopathies, and different levels of hypertrophy.
