Why was that such an important lesson for you?

Well, I mean, because i-i-in the famous words of a guy by the name of Marlon Downey, who was a past president of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, but I always remember this.

He would say, you know, "Geology is a science, but exploration is a business." And as a result, there are many components of a business.

You know, there are...

We got to go to IMAGE 2026, and it was awesome.

AAPG allowed us to come in, get set up, and start capturing the stories from the IBA winners, the folks that got second and third.

And then we got to sit down with Mr. Tamer Ali about his PhD work at LSU, chasing the sediment flows along the Mississippi Valley.

But thank you so much to the AAPG.

and the SEG for allowing us to set up our booth and capture these stories.

And we hope you enjoy the content.

The background noise is all of that excitement and energy.

I am Molly Turco, and I'm general co-chair on the AAPG side.

My colleague Edith Miller, she's on the SEG side.

So between the two of us, we've been able to oversee an incredible steering committee.

And the steering committee consists of all the volunteers that make the fun parts of the conference happen.

And then we work very closely with the staff between AAPG and SEG who are incredibly brilliant and passionate.

And a conference like this would not happen without them.

It's been fun kind of seeing all of the things that go on behind the scenes.
