Academy of Finland

Yeah.

So this recent, uh, soon, soon to be, uh, conclude Academy of Finland or nowadays Research Council of Finland project.

Um, I, I never even remember the long project name, but it's, uh, what we call it internally is a speech fakes project that's, uh, like a little bit like deepfakes, but, uh, speech fakes.

Um, well, i-in that, that project, it's been running, uh, four years and it's, uh, gonna conclude actually this summer.

So who knows where that will go or what that will lead to.

But as for what I'm working on currently, I'm on a two-year postdoctoral fellowship funded by the Academy of Finland as part of a bigger project team.

And we're researching photographic histories that reflect queerness or queer lives in Finland.

like totally new for me i just haven't done archival research before and it's something i'm really enjoying my personal project is looking at queer rural spaces in finland as they like attach or emerge through the photographic archives of people that we know to have been queer but who didn't leave a lot of like written records of their queerness so the question here is like what can the visual record tell us or where can it transport us or how how can it affect us and each of these in like queer ways I'm yet to work anything into like a clear article.
