It was the company was in a very transformative moment.

It was the time when Kraft Heinz get acquired from 3G Capital and Berkshire Hathaway from Warren Buffett.

So it was a turn around.

You say, how does this help in mergers? The minute after you do a merger, You know what happens to your book values, right? Especially because you're bringing in another company.

So I'm going to use Ambev, which was the original Brazilian company that 3G Capital is in control of.

And they bought, when they bought Ambev, so the original merger, I was an Ambev shareholder.

And I remember waiting for the benefits.

But they didn't just buy Heinz outright and install a new CEO.

They teamed up with 3G Capital.

Right.

An investment firm led by Jorge Paulo Lehmann to take the company private.

Right.

And on top of that, they paid $4.25 billion to buy exactly half of the common equity.

3G Capital took the other half of the common equity and became the actual operators of the business.

It's just a fascinating division of labor.
